This is supposed to sound like the world is ending. PLEASE IF YOU ARE WEARING HEADPHONES TURN IT DOWN NEAR THE END IT GETS SUPER LOUD! I know that some of the synths come in way too suddenly and the fade on my Thunder sound is weird but otherwise I like what I have so far. Every synth is either out of an Fm chord or an Fdim chord.
I started a bunch of drafts but finally decided on continuing with this one. Very unusual feeling I’m going for, and I think it will vary from person to person (for me, it’s similar to angry-crying or some sort of rapture). I used a lot of resonance which is something I’ve never tried before.
I’m thinking about sending this composition to hell (dissonance, more despair), or continuing it “upwards” and speeding up. Suggestions for spatialization would help me out a lot !
With synths, I always think of cool space games. So for now, I sat down and watched the gameplay of some games, but with no sound. I created the sounds as I was watching the gameplay, putting my own music and emotions into some of these starting sounds.
This sounds like I’m pretending/attempting to write a guitar solo with a synth. I really enjoy shiny atmospheric sounds, but I might be getting carried away. I don’t know if I’ll keep the melody bit, but I definitely like the twiddling I’ve done to make the intro and the pulsing chord progression. I think I might let the piece fall into a less rhythmic section following this, and add more dissonance.
So…it sounds horrendous. That’s why I liked it. Although, it is not at all a representation of what I want to do with this project because I currently can’t figure out how to do what it is that I want.
So this is really late, but better late then never. In the spirit of Halloween, I have decided to go with something spooky. Don’t worry friends, the spook is just beginning. I want to polish up the string synth but other then that, I really like the bass and kick.
Shout out to Joe for helping me through tough times.
Here’s my first draft for project 2. Let me know what you think! I’ll admit, it is slightly repetitive right now. I need to add more progressions and melodies, but I think that I have some good synths working here.
Here is draft 1 of project number 2. Wasn’t really what I wanted, but it is only the first draft. I used classic electric piano as the main instrumentation, but altered the synth sounds with Alchemy and Retro Synth. I wish i could have used more of the E-A PrimerMusic synth sounds, but it wouldn’t let me. Enjoy!
